This adventure began on a cold morning in February 2006. I was walking to the side of our beautiful, old oak tree, when I had the feeling of being watched. I immediately looked up in the tree but didn't see anything. Then out of the corner of my eye, I swear I saw something again.  I went inside the house and came back with binoculars.  Sure enough, I was not being paranoid, something watching me, an Eastern Screech Owl.

Here is our little chipmunk friend, Alvin, who decided to venture out the same day we discovered the owl. Obviously Alvin doesn't have a clue that other critters, like the owl might want him for dinner...

Fast forward to 5/18/2006.  We discovered the owls had babies (owlettes).
During this time we also would see one of the parents out more. We think it was the mom, because she looked somewhat smaller than the other owl we had seen.

We believe this is the dad.
Mom is watching.

One evening a few days later we discovered there are three.
